Week of September 21, 2026 - Small World Seafood Update

Hello everybody!!

I love September weather. I really do. What i don't particularly like is watching the sun battle the moon. I am a sun person. I daylight person. But this week, the moon and the night will overtake the sun and the day. In plain English, the days will now be shorter than the nights. The battle has been lost. Not without effort. This has been a hot and sunny summer. But it is what it is. I can feel it in my body. I am sleepier. I am less energetic. I am craving stews, soups and broths...I am changing too...

But, like everything else I face, I will succumb to the hibernation with full defiance. The dark side will have the drag me down clawing and scratching.. If I can't see the sun, I will hear it in happy music and eat it with food that tastes like the sun is beaming right down on me.

And what better way to thumb my nose at the Equinox that to have more yellowfin tuna from Canada! Tuna last week was gorgeous and there are more coming in! Poke bowls! Sashimi! Hand rolls! Yay!

One final week it looks like for fresh claw and knuckle lobster meat! What better way to flip the bird to the shift than to celebrate with lobster rolls!!!!

And how about whole Portuguese sardines and barbouni (also known as red mullets and rouget). Now THAT'S a taste of summer!

We have more Greenland turbot fillets! More cod cheeks! Butterflied rainbow trout and branzini..Of course, Faroe Island salmon and Hokkaido scallops. Both sushi grade to boot..

Plus some fun special items too! Lots of you really loved the cooked baby shrimp from Nova Scotia. We managed to get our hands on more but these are a wee bit smaller. Same peeled and cooked shrimp from the same supplier. Same sweet, sweet taste. For those who haven't had these, this is the small shrimp you often see in Scandinavia over toast. For me, great on avocado toast or in a salad..

We will have more shrimp and crab canneloni in vodka cream sauce as well as more tuna ravioli in Puttanesca sauce!

We have more smoked albacore tuna spread and whole smoked whiting! So many things to dance, play and sing with!!!

You see? Lots of fun stuff to play with, no?

And as always, I am still keeping my eyes peeled for something else coming our way. You never know..There are a few possibilities still to reveal themselves....

You see how much fun we can have? I feel it too...

PEI mussels are the shellfish of the week....Pair with Settentatre Pasta Co's organic fresh spinach linguini for cheapest meal ever!!  Not sure about oysters yet... We have labneh and smoked fish..So many good things..

Plenty of crab meat, shrimp, etc....

I know, I know..Lots of words...

Anyway, as usual, I have to thank all of you guys for being in our lives. What an incredible community we live in...
