Week of June 8, 2026 - Small World Seafood Update
Hello everybody!!
So many people having fun with tuna and soft shells last week. What a thrill. For everyone, really. For you guys, the chance to get things you can't normally get in a seafood market. The fun you guys are having with being adventurous is amazing. At first, there is a bit of nervousness but that can quickly turn into excitement. Very cool!
I really get a sense of this when I get emails from people who moved to places like New York City or DC and really miss Small World. We end up shipping to them to ease their pain and that feel good to us. Plus, to see and hear so many of you preparing resto quality dishes at home and saving so much money also feels good. Pretty amazing and unique what we all have here together..
So, this week is starting out a little bit hazy as far as knowing what we will have to paly with. But, just like last week having soft shells drop into our lap at the last minute, stay tuned for the mid week email. I am hoping to see either turbot or halibut possibly. No guarantee but that's what I am honing in on....
The Canadian boys are really having fun with tuna as the feed fish have been coming closer to land. So more tuna! We rarely see back to back weeks of tuna but, hey, I am not complaining. You either, right?
We will have more fresh cooked claw and knuckle lobster meat from Nova Scotia! Just a total summery thing to have and enjoy...
We have more Icelandic cod cheeks this week! I love getting texts or emails from people trying them for the first time and telling me how blown away they are by them. Yup. Toldja...
We have more Spanish mackerel fillets too! Mild and delish. And beautiful, too!
We have Faroe Island salmon and Hokkaido scallops. Both sushi grade..Whole daurades, butterflied branzini and rainbow trouts..heck, so many good things to choose from..
We also have a nice shot of shrimp and crab canneloni back into the fold. Plenty of that whole crab crab meat that is fantastic for crab cakes and pastas.
And as always, I am still keeping my eyes peeled for something else coming our way. You never know..There are a few possibilities still to reveal themselves....
You see how much fun we can have? I feel it too...
PEI mussels are the shellfish of the week....Pair with Settentatre Pasta Co's organic fresh buccatini for cheapest meal ever!! More Beaver Tails oysters from Rhode Island this week. Big and meaty... We have labneh and smoked fish..So many good things..
Plenty of crab meat, shrimp, etc....
I know, I know..Lots of words...
Anyway, as usual, I have to thank all of you guys for being in our lives. What an incredible community we live in...
