Week of June 16, 2025 - Small World Seafood Update

Hello everybody!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Father's Day weekend with good food and good stories...The bubble of family and friends is the best insulation to the things going on in the world that are outside of our control. Sitting to eat together encapsulates us in a beautiful way.

Anyhow, we are careening toward the fourth of July so this is where I start to tell you that we will be closed the week of the 4th. From June 30th until July 6th. So this week and next week are the last chances to stock up on goodies. I'll keep reminding you guys. Hey, we need a vacation too. You know?

And what a way to start the countdown! We've all been waiting and you've all been asking and here it is...finally! Halibut week!!! Fresh halibut from Nova Scotia is finally starting to hit the docks en masse meaning the quality will be super high and the price will be at its lowest! So many of you list this as your favorite fish. You patience will be rewarded...

Frome our friends in Idaho, we have beatiful Rainbow trout! Butterflied head off and boneless trout. If you haven't tried our fresh water trout, you are missing out on one of the best in the whole country. The best, in my opinion. We also have whole trout scaled and gutted with the head on and bone in for the grillers out there. Check out my vid on stufffing the trout with a fishcake..ridick...

We will continue with lobsterfest for the rest of the month so keep stuffing yourself with it. You can't get enough of lobstah rolls, baby!!! But if you do, make some pasta...

We have more King mackerel, More skate cheeks, too!

We have Faroe Island salmon and Hokkaido scallops. Both fresh or blast frozen. Both sushi grade. We have more branzini butterflied. More Black Cod fillets. More lobster tails from South Africa. More head on wild Red Argentine shrimp. More wild rock shrimp...

For a special item, we have a new lettuce from our friend, Walt, in Sussex county Delaware. This go is some beautful, hearty Red Gem lettuce! So many of you have told me that this is probably the best lettuce you've ever had. It certainly is for me. Crazy to even utter words like that about lettuce but, there you go. It's that good...

You see? How much fun we can have?

Littleneck clams are the shellfish of the week....Pair with Settentatre Pasta Co's organic fresh spinach linguini for cheapest meal ever!!  Not quite sure about oysters yet ... We have labneh and smoked fish..So many good things..

Plenty of crab meat, shrimp, etc....

I know, I know..Lots of words...

Anyway, as usual, I have to thank all of you guys for being in our lives. What an incredible community we live in...
