Week of April 13, 2026 - Small World Seafood Update
Hello everybody!!
Well, everyone has been dying for warmer weather. And here we have it this week. It's gonna hit 90F on Thursday??? Okay, some of you have been praying a little too hard on this one...relax..let's have a Spring before we roast in the summer....Jeesh...
Well, with weather transitions come parallel movements in the seas. It's been a few months of very windy weather all around plus fuel price shocks but we've finally made it. This week, we will have fresh yellowfin tuna from Australia!!! That part of the world really knows how to handle the fish so well. We've always had beautiful tunas coming from that area. And no wonder. The Pac Rim really cares about quality when it comes to tuna...poke bowls, babeeeeee!!
Also on the list but from a spot a little closer to us, we have more monkfish fillets from Rhode Island!! The 'poor man's lobster' has become a big favorite for a lot of you. A no wonder. Such a nice sweet tasting meat. And its firmness really makes it such a great fish for anything from roasting to pan searing to popping into a chowder or soup!
We also have more Faroe Island salmon coming this week. Hopefully, the nicer weather will make it more consistent in coming to us. This salmon is also sushi grade so wonderful to add to your poke party! You could also add Hokkaido scallops to the mix too! Yup. They are sushi grade as well!
We have branzini, rainbow trouts, Chilean seabass fillets, Black cod fillets..A kazillion things to have fun with, really...
We have more smoked hot dogs from El Camino. More frozen lava cakes with Passionfruit from Good Good Chocolates. Those things, my lord...
And as always, I am still keeping my eyes peeled for something else coming our way. You never know..There are a few possibilities still to reveal themselves....
You see how much fun we can have? I feel it too...
PEI mussels are the shellfish of the week....Pair with Settentatre Pasta Co's organic fresh spinach linguini for cheapest meal ever!! Not sure about oysters yet ... We have labneh and smoked fish..So many good things..
Plenty of crab meat, shrimp, etc....
I know, I know..Lots of words...
Anyway, as usual, I have to thank all of you guys for being in our lives. What an incredible community we live in...
