Week of August 24, 2026 - Fairmount/444 N 4th Order Form
Hello everybody!!
Okay. I feel like I came out of a hot yoga class into the cool outside air..This summer has been brutally hot and humid. We had a reeal winter with cold and a ton of snow. We had a real spring with rain and some lovely days. Then a really hot summer. Now, I just want a lovely fall to round out the four seasons. Is that too much to ask?
So, we don't know what the angels up above will gift us weatherwise but they sure as heck gifted us some nice east coast fish to have fun with! Thanks guys!! First up is some beautiful, fresh, sushi grade albacore tuna from Canada!! I love this tuna for it's fattiness and versatility. Great in poke bowls. Great in a saucy dish. Great sesame crusted and pan seared. Super nice stuff!!
Also from up there, more fresh swordfish!! Another winner, winner, swordfish dinner!! And another versatile fish that can be cooked up in a million ways. Anything you can do with chicken breast, you can do with sword. Try it...
A nice surprise landing was a beautiful shot of Boston mackerel! So, we filleted them and blast froze them for you. Mild yet flavorful, so pretty looking and one of the best sources of Omega3s out there for a fish. One of my faves!
Also, more fresh claw and knuckle lobster meat from Nova Scotia! A couple of weeks left of summer and your obsession with lobster rolls!!! (Having lobster roll problems? Please call 1-800-lobster)...
Faroe island salmon and Hokkaido scallops, yes. Sushi grade? Yes. Even the blast frozen? Yes....
Branzini, rainbow trout, Chilean seabass, Black cod and on and on...
For special features, we have the full, one and only, no one else gets any but us, once a year, wildflower honey from Jim Ryland and John Adams in Berwyn! This stuff is so pretty and special. No blending, raw and unfiltered. 8 ounces of goodness. Plus, with rosh Hashanah coming in a couple of weeks and lots of apples getting ready to dip into honey, this is the honey you want!
Also, on the smoked fish front, a new item to try out. Whole smoked whiting! Not as fatty or oily as lake fish, this salt water fish from North Carolina is dynamite smoked. You get three fish totalling appoximately a pound. Fun to pick at and eat. The meat falls right off the bone...Have at it!
Tons of stuff, really. Everything to make your dreams come true...
We have PEI mussels this week. Great thing to add to Settantatre Pasta Co fresh spinach pasta. Best cheap meal ever!!.Also, Wellfleets are the oysters this week from Massachusetts. Nice and big...good stuff..and briny..
So have at it!!!
See what I mean?? All this good to stuff to choose from.... Life is good...You'll never need to leave the house...
And don't forget your frozen shrimp, crab meat, and condiments and sauces...And dog treats for doggies...Coddy Canes are back too..
I know, I know. Lots of words but, hey, consider the alternative...
