Week of August 17, 2026 - Fairmount/444 N 4th Order Form
Hello everybody!!
So, the sea if a funny place. You don't always know what it is going to give us. Even when you think you do...
So it is a surprise that I got a call earlier this week telling me there would be more soft shell crabs!!! This time from Maryland!!! Quite a shocker to me but there you go! The angels are favorable to us! Now, this will definitely be the last time in 2026 for soft shell crabs. The next time we will see them in May 2027. So, this is the time to celebrate it one last time and give it a kiss goodbye!! We will clean them for you and remember to cook them up within two days. They do freeze well so keep that in mind. You cal load up for the year...
More Greenland turbot came in!! Super happy with this fish! Truly one of my top three favorites. And with a terrible year for the king halibut fishery, this smaller northern cousin is such a great substitute for the halibut lovers. Not that it is a sub for anything. It stands as its own great fish. Perfect for a pan sear, a roast in the oven or baked in parchment for something fun and fancy...
Also, with a few weeks left to summer, time to barrel toward the final gorge on lobster meat! More fresh cooked claw and knuckle lobster meat this week! Remember that the shelf life in your fridge is one week. But it can also be frozen as well.
We have more Icelandic cod cheeks this week! Clean little bundles of goodness..
We have a nice shot of Portuguese sardines. More whole daurades but this time some bigger ones averaging 1.5lb each so one is good for two people...
Butterflied branzini & rainbow trout, chilean seabass, black cod, hamachi loins and collars, a variety of shrimp. On the crab meat front, we have lump as well as claw meat. No essential blend this week..
On the specials front, we have more pork/beef hot dogs from El Camino! Great stuff. the real deal, in fact. And wagyu ground beef from Stonyrun Farm is back!
Also, we are trying out a new prepared frozen pasta meal. Tuna ravioli in a puttanesca sauce! All you gotta do is heat it up! And back to spinach linguini for the fresh pasta..
Tons of stuff, really. Everything to make your dreams come true...
We have littleneck clams this week. Great thing to add to Settantatre Pasta Co fresh bucatini. Best cheap meal ever!!.Also, Mayflower Points are the oysters this week from Massachusetts. Nice and big...good stuff..and briny..
So have at it!!!
See what I mean?? All this good to stuff to choose from.... Life is good...You'll never need to leave the house...
And don't forget your frozen shrimp, crab meat, and condiments and sauces...And dog treats for doggies...Coddy Canes are back too..
I know, I know. Lots of words but, hey, consider the alternative...
