Week of February 23, 2026 - Chestnut Hill Farmers Market Order Form

Hello everybody!!

Please remember that we begin winter hours for the market. 10a til noon....

I am trying to keep a positive spin on all this snow we've been having. I really am. Just look at my clenched teeth as I grin....

Well, things haven't been terrible with the snow around here. But up in New York and Boston (or in between to be specific), it's been a disaster. Three feet plus and really tough to get snow removed. Not from the highways. That's easy. From the towns and streets where fishermen and truck drivers live. They haven't been able to get to work. Things are just starting to get back to normal..

So, those bay scallops I was talking about are not making it this week. Next week hopefully.Things are slowly started to move again...Funny. A lot of product is up there but without ground transport, it can't get anywhere...But, in the end, we have a lot of stuff here and we can certainly make do and fun..

So, we will have fresh Steelhead trout fillet! (see my toothy grin?) We love our steelhead around here. The fattier cousin of salmon, this is one terrific fish to make a poke bowl out of. It looks similar to salmon and you can cook it exactly the same way as you would salmon...But if you prefer salmon, we do have blast frozen salmon for you...

I won't go down the list of things to much since you can scroll for yourself and see the bounty we have. This is a good opportunity to pick up a couple of things you haven't had in a while and play with it. Or something you have never tried but always wanted to. Food and fun go hand in hand...

As for special items this week, we have a nice shot of fish meatballs in pesto cream sauce. We've made it saucier so that you can toss it with pasta if that's what you like doing.

We have smoked albacore tuna spread. Quickly becoming one of people's favorite things...

And we have some smoked haddock fillet we've made. Also known as finnan haddie up in the British Isles, this is a necessary component for famous comfort dishes such as Kedgeree and Cullin Skink. Some of my favorite fish soups and stews...

PEI mussels and litttleneck clams are the shellfish of the week. And with your favorite pasta? Best cheap meal ever! Savage Blondes are the oysters this week from PEI. Nice and plump.

All this good to stuff to choose from.... Life is good...

And don't forget your frozen shrimp and condiments and sauces...And dog treats for doggies...

I know, I know. Lots of words but, hey, consider the alternative...

Here is the order form. Bring a bag! Bring a bag! Bring a bag!
