Week of March 16, 2026 - Bryn Mawr Farmers Market Order Form
Hello everybody!!
Lots of good things this week!! Look, in a few days, is the official beginning of Spring. The Vernal Equinox. The day where the light catches up to the dominant darkness only to dominate for the next six months. I will take that symbolism as an omen of good things to come. Gotta find those messages in the universe anywhere we can right now, right?
Here's more good news. We have fresh claw and knuckle lobster meat from Nova Scotia! This is the good stuff perfect for pastas and risottos but most of you all really like making lobster rolls. I can't blame you. To kick of spring with a taste of summer is what I'm all about. Out of every pound, you can make four or five lobster rolls. I usually make 5. Lobster is pretty rich and with some garlic butter to season, well, yeah...
Dropping into the docks this morning, more fresh fluke flounder fillets! It seems like we are doing it quite a bit lately but this is prime time for it, really. Firm, sweet and mild, this is one delicious flatfish fillet. And no wonder. It is the little cousin of halibut so it's gotta be good! Take advantage! Pretty soon we won't see it for a bit! Oh, and it's one great fish for a crudo. Yup, you can eat it raw...
For those celebrating Passover, we have our famous frozen gefilte fish logs from Raskins in Brooklyn! I know it's two weeks away but stock up on them now. We will sell out by next week probably..
Also in is aa nice shot of whole red mullets from Europe. Also known as Rouget in France and Barbouni in Greece, these little fish are very flavorful and tasty!
We have more cod cheeks and Boston mackerel fillets! More Martha's Vineyard Bay scallops! Those won't be around much longer. Just a few more weeks. We have butterflied branzini and rainbow trout. Black cod fillets as well as Chilean seabass.
So have at it!!!
PEI mussels and littleneck clams are the shellfish of the week. And with organic fresh spinach linguini from Settantatre Pasta Co? Best cheap meal ever! Beach Plums are the oysters this week from Massachussetts . Nice and plump.
See what I mean?? All this good to stuff to choose from.... Life is good...
And don't forget your frozen shrimp and condiments and sauces...And dog treats for doggies...
I know, I know. Lots of words but, hey, consider the alternative...
Here is the order form. Bring a bag! Bring a bag! Bring a bag!
