Week of June 15, 2026 - Small World Seafood Update

Hello everybody!!

And there it was. A magnificent weekend in the city and at the shore. You could not get more perfect than that. Plus, with hugely positive vibe of visitors coming for the 250 and the World Cup, well, I just have to say that I am so proud of Philadelphia.

So, every year, we shut down for vacation on the week of July 4th. Hey, we all need a break too. So we will not be doing orders and pick ups on July 2nd and July 3rd. Soooooo, this week and next week will be the last chance for you guys to load up for the July 4th weekend festivities. We will be having shop hours for walk ins on Monday, the 29th and Tuesday, the 30th of June. So there is a safety valve for those who need it.

I don't think we've ever done this three weeks in a row but we will this time. But instead of yellowfin tuna, we will have sushi grade albacore tuna!!! A smaller cousin of yellowfin and bigeye, it should not be discounted. From ruby to cream in color, it is fattier than it's cousins giving it a flavorful and creamy mouth feel. Super for poke bowls and great to quickly sear up. Also great to poach in a broth or sauce too!!

We have more fresh claw and knuckle lobster meat from Nova Scotia and quess what? The price went down a tad!! Now, it seems like prices are going up every else but you will rarely see them come down when they should. Up like a rocket, down like a feather. But not us. Price went down for us, price goes down for you!

We have Faroe Island salmon and Hokkaido scallops. Both sushi grade..Whole daurades, butterflied branzini and rainbow trouts, cod cheeks..heck, so many good things to choose from..

And for fun stuff, I know it's been a while but we have fresh organic lettuce from our friend Walt at Sussex Farms in Delaware! Closing the loop down there on a great tilapia farm, the runoff provides some of the best natural fertilizer. And this lettuce is terrific! He has a leafy Romaine for us! Grab some salt cured anchovies and follow the recipe on our site for a true Caesar salad dressing. Amazing...

We also have another shot of hot dogs from El Camino but this time, they are All Beef dogs! Stock up for the holiday people!!!

And the fresh pasta this week will be rotini! Look, it may be getting a little hot for a lotta pasta but rotini is such a great pasta for pasta salads. What says summer more than that? Use our baby shrimp or crab meat and have a blast!!!

We also have a nice shot of shrimp and crab canneloni back into the fold. Plenty of that whole crab crab meat that is fantastic for crab cakes and pastas.

And as always, I am still keeping my eyes peeled for something else coming our way. You never know..There are a few possibilities still to reveal themselves....

You see how much fun we can have? I feel it too...

Littleneck clams are the shellfish of the week....Pair with Settentatre Pasta Co's organic fresh buccatini for cheapest meal ever!!  Not sure about oysters yet... We have labneh and smoked fish..So many good things..

Plenty of crab meat, shrimp, etc....

I know, I know..Lots of words...

Anyway, as usual, I have to thank all of you guys for being in our lives. What an incredible community we live in...
