Week of February 2, 2026 - Small World Seafood Update

Hello everybody!!

I don't know about you but I am kinda getting used to this shit...weird....This week will feel warmer with highs around the freezing point. How about that! Gonna feel like Florida!!

Most of you have seen the weather pattern that hit the Carolinas and crawled up the east coast so you would know by now that very few boats went out over the weekend. Not to mention that late last week, a fishing vessel out of Massachusetts sank and all seven men were lost. Super sad. Once again, another reminder of how much admiration and gratitude we need to have for those who risk their lives to put food on our tables.

So, I am not sure what will shake out for this week but, hey, I wasn't sure last week either and fresh albacore tuna fell into our laps. Stay tuned for the order form email later this week. The weather is breaking to better so you never know.

In the meantime, we have fresh Faroe Island salmon back into the fold this week! Sushi grade and best in class. Just try buying salmon from somewhere else and comparing. It doesn't even come close....Same with our Hokkaido scallops. Incredible flavor and texture and just fantastic sliced in medallions raw to make a crudo..

A lot of our usual suspects are still around. So glad to hear so many of you rave about our new cooked Spanish octopus tentacles. I had them last night again and they are terrific! They just need to be pan seared or roasted in a hot 450F oven for 30 minutes and voila!!!

But as always, I am still keeping my eyes peeled for something else coming our way. You never know..

You see how much fun we can have? I feel it too...

PEI mussels are the shellfish of the week....Pair with Settentatre Pasta Co's organic fresh spinach linguini for cheapest meal ever!!  Not sure about oysters yet ... We have labneh and smoked fish..So many good things..

Plenty of crab meat, shrimp, etc....

I know, I know..Lots of words...

Anyway, as usual, I have to thank all of you guys for being in our lives. What an incredible community we live in...
