Week of January 19, 2026 - Small World Seafood Update
Hello everybody!!
Cold enough for ya? My answer is, yes. Yes it is...there's a bite to it, yeah?
Most of you know what I am going to say now. It was a little too cold out there and nasty enough out there for boats to have gone out this past weekend. Boats are headed out today so we shall see what they come back with. You know, we can complain about the ice and the cold but we don't have to spend a few days out on the waters in this weather. I have so much admiration and appreciation for the people who risk their lives to put food on our tables..They never seem to get enough thanks or thoughts, in my book...
What I know so far is that we have more cod cheeks from Iceland coming in. We have more Portuguese sardines that we blast froze for you. We have more Spanish mackerel fillets.
We will have shrimp and crab canneloni in vodka cream sauce from Settantatre Pasta co. Great thing to pop in your oven and heat up from your freezer..
We will have Faroe island salmon and Hokkaido scallops. Both sushi grade. Lots of branzini and rainbow trout butterflied. Whole daurades, scaled and gutted, are in the house.
Heck, we have such a fun list right now with so many pretty cool things to explore.
As always, I am still keeping my eyes peeled for something else coming our way. You never know..
You see how much fun we can have? I feel it too...
Littleneck clams are the shellfish of the week....Pair with Settentatre Pasta Co's organic fresh spinach linguini for cheapest meal ever!! Not sure about oysters yet ... We have labneh and smoked fish..So many good things..
Plenty of crab meat, shrimp, etc....
I know, I know..Lots of words...
Anyway, as usual, I have to thank all of you guys for being in our lives. What an incredible community we live in...
