Week of January 26, 2026 - Fit/Ritt/Wash Sq Order Form
Hello everybody!!
This week is a week where we also will have an option for Saturday pickups in Queen Village at 4th and Monroe from 9am til 10:30am then onto Moore Brothers Wines in Pennsauken from 11am til 12:30pm. Make sure you select the proper pick up day.
Things are slowly getting back to normal although what is 'normal' is up for debate. When you come to the realization that this could be like this for another week or more, you just must enter the space of 'reluctant acceptance'...There's a good phrase for you psychology nerds..And with so many of you working from home, be grateful your kids are back to school...
Anyway, let's make a party of it! As many of you know, I tend to be rebellious in situations such as these. Defiance is one of my many favorite coping mechanisms..So, if we are going to be cooped up in this nastiness, I like to create the delusion that it doesn't exist. Even for a small moment such as dinner. I can prepare the most summer-y dishes i can think of. It doesn't change the weather patterns but it certainly changes my mood for the better. Even if just for a few hours.
So, let's get a sushi thing going this week, yeah? We have Tombos from Hawaii this week! These albacore tunas are really special. Yes, they are sushi grade. And what a gorgeous coloring from ruby to cream. Nice fattiness and delicious flavor. So many of you had never had sushi grade albacore before we started introducing it to you a few years back. Now, it's a crowd favorite..
Also a crowd favorite is fresh Steelhead trout! We have some coming in from another part of the world this time. Again, let's have fun and explore, yeah? This time from Patagonia in Chile. Super excited to have this. This farm, Mar Andino, is slowly becoming world renown for it's sustainability and natural processes. And for the excellent flavor of this fish. Sushi grade as well so another great thing to toss into your poke bowl!
We have blast frozen Faroe Island salmon for the diehards that only want salmon. No judgement here. Fantastic stuff...
How about frozen hamachi loins to add to the festivities? Yup...
We have more Portuguese sardines blast frozen. There is defiance on a plate if you've ever seen one. We have cooked Spanish octopus tentacles. Just thaw, roast or pan sear..easy peasy...
Plenty of branzini and butterflied Rainbow trout as well as Chilean seabass and Black cod. Heck, we have a ton of stuff these days...
One add on is a different type of caviar i wanted to add to the mix. A domestic one. This is Hackleback Caviar which has a nice small grain and blacker color. Of all the really good domestic caviar we produce here, this is considered to be the best of them all..
We have Littleneck clams this week. Great thing to add to Settantatre Pasta Co fresh spinach linguini. Best cheap meal ever!!.Also, Great Salt Ponds are the oysters this week from Rhode Island once again... Nice and plump.
So have at it!!!
See what I mean?? All this good to stuff to choose from.... Life is good...You'll never need to leave the house...
And don't forget your frozen shrimp, crab meat, and condiments and sauces...And dog treats for doggies...Coddy Canes are back too..
I know, I know. Lots of words but, hey, consider the alternative...
