Week of June 23, 2025 - Chestnut Hill Farmers Market Order Form

Hello everybody!!

You are our last stop this week before we take a week off for the 4th!! I know it's weird for a business to take time off and not be open around the clock. But we are a weird business anyway. And I truly believe, having worked in the restaurant business for so long without a break for holidays, that having specific weeks off every year is good for everyone here. We need to take a short distance from the rhythmic nature of our weekly work and reset. It really works. Plus, we get to enjoy a week in the summer like everybody else. That feels different and pretty cool at the same time.

But....we will go out with a bang!! So, first on the menu is fresh sushi grade yellowfin (Ahi) tuna from Canada!! Cold water, gorgeous tuna perfect for a hot day poke bowl!!! or tartares...or crudos...You know..have fun with it!!

Also, last week, we had fresh halibut come around for everybody else but don't worry. I always (or usually anyway) try to blast freeze some stuff so that everybody gets a taste of the same stuff. So, blast frozen halibut this week!!! There. Now the children can each have a doll....

Also, some of our excellent frozen hamachi loins!! These come skinless and boneless and will change your life! Okay, that may be a little much but what you can produce with this versus what you would pay in a sushi resto is ridiculous. And this stuff will just melt in your mouth!

Plus, on the sushi train, our Faroe Island salmon is sushi grade as well as our Hokkaido scallops! Who need to heat up the kitchen when all you need is a sharp knife!

But if you did want to heat up your kitchen, we have hamachi kama (the collar). I love when we can introduce something different to you guys and you try it. What's more, is when many of you declare that you've found something you absolutely love and you never knew that. This is one of those things. If you haven't tried them, you are missing out. Salt, pepper, olive oil, skin side up, 450F for 12 minutes, broil for 3 minutes...voila!! Or eureka! Take your pick...

We have black cod fillets, branzini butterflied, whole rainbow trouts, wild rock shrimp, wild head on Argentine red shrimp..We have more skate cheeks as well!

And for the summery, July 4th kind of things, we have fresh claw and knuckle lobster meat from Nova Scotia! You want a lobster roll? You got it. You can make 4-5 rolls from one pound. Do the math. So much cheaper that ordering out for them.

And how about some smoked pork/beef hot dogs from El Camino! Hot dogs and lobster rolls..Sounds pretty patriotic to me...

Littleneck clams are the shellfish of the week. No mussels since many areas of PEI are in a spawn phase. And with organic fresh spinach linguini from Settantatre Pasta Co? Best cheap meal ever! Island Pearls are the oysters this week from PEI. Nice and plump.

See what I mean?? All this good to stuff to choose from.... Life is good...

And don't forget your frozen shrimp and condiments and sauces...And dog treats for doggies...

I know, I know. Lots of words but, hey, consider the alternative...

Here is the order form. Bring a bag! Bring a bag! Bring a bag!
