Week of April 20, 2026 - Chestnut Hill Farmers Market Order Form
Hello everybody!!
Please remember that we still have winter hours for the market. 10a til noon....
So much fun rolling in to this time of year. Not only do we see the manifestations of the seasonal change in the warmth of the sun and the blooms in the trees, but we see a shift in seasonal migration patterns of fish that make them more available to us.
This week, we see the opening of halibut season kick off in all its splendor with massive amounts of fish hitting the docks in Nova Scotia. The nice thing about this flooding in the market is that the price really drops to a nice level you won't normally see. in fact, this happens four or five times throughout the season which ends in November. Plus, with so many fish available, the quality we get goes way up since they can select the best to go out first. Which is what we are seeing now. The stuff is absolutely gorgeous. Very exciting!!
And for those who want to stock up on it, we have some that are blast freezing so you can choose that to jam into your freezers! Great halibut only comes around once in a while!
Plus, last week, we featured fresh yellowfin tuna in the city but I always try to not let you guys fall through the crack on the in between weeks. So I have a small shot of tuna coming for you guys only! Hey, gotta show love to all the kids equally...
Also gorgeous is our Faroe Island salmon. I hear from so many of you that you see it on menus in restos much more now. It's the best. But who we get it from in the Faroes, namely Hiddenfjord, is the best of the best. The gold standard. Sushi grade, no other salmon really compares...I know, I know...we screwed you up on salmon forever...
I can say the same for our Hokkaido scallops. Dry sea scallops can be rather inconsistent but not Hokkaidos. They are considered the best of the best anywhere in the world. And also sushi grade. Trust me. Makes the best crudo...
We have butterflied rainbow trout and butterflied branzini which always makes for a sure meal. Check out my video on grilling branzino. It works for both. Also, a few of you have been asking about whole branzino so we have some for you this week. Scaled and gutted, of course...
We have Chilean seabass, Black cod...also, blast frozem claw and knuckle lobster meat, dang...so many items to play with!!
Shrimp and crab canneloni are back in the mix..So many fun things...
Tons of stuff, really. Everything to make your dreams come true...
We have littleneck clams and PEI mussels this week. Great thing to add to your favorite pasta. Best cheap meal ever!!.Also, Beach Plums are the oysters this week from Massachussetts..good stuff..
All this good to stuff to choose from.... Life is good...
And don't forget your frozen shrimp and condiments and sauces...And dog treats for doggies...
I know, I know. Lots of words but, hey, consider the alternative...
Here is the order form. Bring a bag! Bring a bag! Bring a bag!
