Week of March 9, 2026 - Chestnut Hill Farmers Market Order Form
Hello everybody!!
Please remember that we still have winter hours for the market. 10a til noon....
You can really feel the spring coming. Not just the weather. Our moods are lifting. Our energies are lifting. The sun is setting later in the day. I am able to sit on my stoop and talk to neighbors walking by. Buds on the trees. Birds chirping away...Ahhhh...something positive in the world...
Well, not much interesting stuff to play in the markets this week. Last week was a blow off top and all the fishers took the money and took a chill. But that doesn't mean we don't have stuff to play with!
For guys this week, we have fresh fluke flounder fillets! We had a large shot available last week for the other groups but no worries. We have you covered this week. Just you guys. The fluke is looking amazing right now. Firm, fatty and sweet.
We got our hands on more Martha's Vineyard bay scallops! Now, these little pearls do not get harvested in great quantity. Quite the contrary. You see 25 to 50 pounds come in on boats. It is a small harvest with a short season. Many weeks in the winter, the water and winds are too rough. This is primetime for them. By the end of the month or beginning of April, they'll be done. So carpe diem, people...
We have some gorgeous Faroe Island salmon and Hokkaido scallops. Both sushi grade and perfect for poke bowls or for the pan or oven.
We have more blast frozen steelhead trout for those who really dig that fish. Also great for poke bowls!
Also, Boston mackerel fillets and a small shot of blast frozen monkfish fillets!!
I've already started grilling so a bunch of these items are top of mind. Sardines, Whole daurades, cooked Spanish octopus tentacles and hamachi kamas top my list..
We have cod cheeks, branzini and rainbow trout butterflied, Chilean seabass, Black cod fillets. Gosh, just a million things anymore...Haddock for a nice fish and chips St Paddy's day thing..
We got another shot of shrimp and crab canneloni back in the mix.
We have smoked albacore tuna spread. Quickly becoming one of people's favorite things...
PEI mussels and litttleneck clams are the shellfish of the week. And with your favorite pasta? Best cheap meal ever! Irish Points are the oysters this week from PEI. Nice and plump.
All this good to stuff to choose from.... Life is good...
And don't forget your frozen shrimp and condiments and sauces...And dog treats for doggies...
I know, I know. Lots of words but, hey, consider the alternative...
Here is the order form. Bring a bag! Bring a bag! Bring a bag!
