Week of October 12, 2026 - Bryn Mawr Farmers Market Order Form

Hello everybody!!

Well, it's good to be back. I miss my own bed. But, I have to say that visiting Northern European countries, their love for fish and the importance it plays in their lives and history is truly beautiful. There is a younger generation also pushing the envelope with reconstructing the classic and traditional foods and moving them forward. Very cool. Edinburgh was an amazing food city that really surprised me. Fantastic, actually. And with direct flights from Philly, I mean, what a nice spot for a short trip. Plus, an hour away from St Andrews for the golf heads. I am definitely going back and next time spending some time in Glasgow.

The northern city of Inverness, center of Highland Culture and administration was one fun town full of music and liveliness. Really pretty too. Not as touristy as Edinburgh and well worth the visit. On the way there, we made a pilgimage to Cullen, a fishing town on the North Sea famous for Cullen Skink. That's a smoked haddock cream soup. So friggin good. Something that probably was the inspiration for clam chowder over here. Instead of using bacon, the smoke comes from the fish. Couldn't get enough of it. That's something that could easily be made with our smoked mackerel too. A good fish soup on cooler days. Nice stuff.

Okay, more on my trip in the update next week. I could talk about it forever as you guys know. This week, falling into our laps is fresh fluke flounder fillet from Rhode Island! We love our flounder around here. Great to dredge and pan fry or bake in the oven. Great to stuff with half a fish cake. Also great to use to make ceviches with...yup...

We have cod cheeks, Boston mackerel fillets, butterflied branzini and rainbow trout, Black cod fillets...Chilean seabass sliders..

Of course, our wonderful Faroe Island salmon from Hiddenfjord and Hokkaido scallops too. Both sushi grade and both the best of the best!!

Tons of stuff, really. Everything to make your dreams come true...

We have PEI mussels and littleneck clams this week. Great thing to add to Settantatre Pasta Co fresh bucatini. Best cheap meal ever!!.Also, Northern Belles are the oysters this week from PEI... nice and big...good stuff..and briny..

See what I mean?? All this good to stuff to choose from.... Life is good...

And don't forget your frozen shrimp and condiments and sauces...And dog treats for doggies...

I know, I know. Lots of words but, hey, consider the alternative...

Here is the order form. Bring a bag! Bring a bag! Bring a bag!
